JUL 14 AT 11 AM – JUL 16 AT 8 PM

🔔 Opened on May 19 in Timișoara, the Art Encounters Biennial 2023 is fast approaching its closing weekend (July 14–16), on which occasion we propose a special and extended program interspersed with guided tours, the official launch of the Biennial’s Catalog, other events in the exhibition spaces and within the complementary platform, as well as a big final party!

🦏 Held under the sign of the dialogue between art, science, and fictions and bringing together exciting and challenging works made by 60 artists from 21 countries, the Biennial welcomed more than 19,000 visitors. Organized in an exceptional year for Timișoara, the European Capital of Culture in 2023, this edition proposed a highly relevant theme. Furthermore, it addressed essential topics to match the ambitious goal of an event of this magnitude and scope.

Starting from a curatorial concept developed by Adrian Notz alongside a curatorial team formed by Cristina Bută, Monica Dănilă, Ann Mbuti, Edith Lázár, Cristina Stoenescu, and Georgia Țidorescu, but also a very exciting, eclectic and relevant list of Romanian, regional and international artists, the fifth edition of the Art Encounters Biennial managed to connect highly varied, complex and layered histories, places, mythologies, and universes.
